Entry Log No.1

Today the 1E3 expedition team have found the remains of the KRSS civilization. This is the greatest finding since the pyramid. We have found artifacts from the KRSS civilisation relating to the well-preserved body of one of their leaders. We were digging around the site where we found the body. We found things like mugs and steel cans which they used to store liquid for drinking. We found spoons and chopsticks which they used for eating. We also found very old currency which meant that they had some kind of government. Markers were found which meant that they had a form of writing which they used to communicate with one another. A container which was used to store drugs was also found which meant that they were quite an advanced civilisation to be able to find cures for diseases. This was an amazing discovery; next we will be finding for ruins of their building structures.

Friday 18th February 2050.

We have just been to the excavation site of the Kent Ridge civilization. We found many different artifacts such as banana notes, money from China suggesting foreign existence. The artifacts which have been attained suggest that the Kent Ridge civilization first started in the year 2000. This archaeological dig, though successful still has not uncovered the cause of death for the Kent Ridgeans. Having flown over there in my car, I still feel optimistic towards the revelation which could change the way we live forever – the cause of the death of all the people in the Kent Ridge civilization.

In the afternoon, something amazing happened, we were digging when we hit something hard. It was not treasure, it was better that that. It was a broken water pipe. We had just revealed the killer of so many people. It was corrosion, a problem that had already been taken care of and so that closes the chapter of the Kent Ridge civilization.

My class just conducted an "archaeological dig" for our history class. Hypothetically, we are now in the year 2050 and we are exploring the "Kent Ridge Civilisation". At the dig site, we uncovered evidence indicating that the "Kent Ridge Civilisation" had lived with the modern age. Our findings and deductions are as follows:

A) Government and control
     No supporting evidence found.

B) Occupations of the society'
     No supporting evidence found.

C) Society
A piece of currency preserved in a sealed plastic bag identified as "yuen" was found. "Yuen" is identified as a Chinese currency used during the period. This may indicate that Singapore during the "Kent Ridge Civilisation" may have used various currencies. This deduction is based on the known prevailing fact that Singapore has always been a multi-racial society.

D) Sciences and the Arts
An interesting piece of accessory decorated with two Chinese female characters was also found. This intriguing piece could be a hair decoration or could also be an item used to run through the hair as a scalp massage device.

E) More Complex Beliefs
      i)   An empty plastic bottle was also found. It was labelled "Vitamin E: Natural Source". This may indicate that the civilisation then believes in consuming direct, unprocessed source of vitamin E as an effective way to stabilize their body cell membranes.

ii)   There was unrecognisable script on the bottle which is currently being deciphered by our specialist team.

F) Form of Writing
Another interesting object found was slender and pen-like labelled "marker". This could likely be the primitive writing material of 2005. The body of the object is too thick to grip and the nib is too broad.

More reports on future findings will be added on:
